Lethal Weapon season 3 unveils first look at Seann William Scott as fired Clayne Crawford's replacement

After an awful lot of behind-the-scenes drama, Lethal Weapon has replaced its, erm… lethal weapon and is now swiftly moving forward with season three.

Ahead of its premiere next month, the cop buddy series has unveiled its first look at Seann William Scott as Wesley Cole, Clayne Crawford’s unofficial replacement.

Crawford’s role of Riggs was replaced by a totally different character after the actor was fired for his allegedly intimidating on-set behaviour, but thankfully, it appears everyone is pretty upbeat about the situation.

When chatting about the upcoming new season recently, Lethal Weapon‘s Damon Wayans admitted that everything is now “a lot lighter” both on and off set.

Speaking earlier this month, Wayans said: “We’re only the first [episode] in but it’s definitely a lot lighter in tone and we’re having fun – on and off set.”

“I wish [Clayne] the best,” he added, before continuing: “Onward and upward for everybody. It’s a lot looser. Nobody is overthinking; we’re just doing and we’re having fun trying to get home.”

Season three will see Wayans’ character Roger Murtaugh struggle to come to terms with the shock death of his partner Riggs – until Seann William Scott comes along, that is.

“When [Murtaugh] meets Wesley, it’s ‘Love at first crime’. He’s the light that Murtaugh needs to be pulled back out of that dark place.”

Lethal Weapon season three begins on September 25 on Fox in the US. The show airs on ITV in the UK.
