England vs India: Fans will not be given a refund on day five… even if it only lasts one ball

England are on the brink of defeat in the Third Test with India needing just one more wicket.

Nottinghamshire have sold 2,000 tickets in advance at £10 each.

But, because they are cheap and it is the final day, regulations state there will be no money back if James Anderson is dismissed first ball.

The county have scaled down their usual £30,000 costs for stewarding and security to £10,000.

A maiden Test century by Jos Buttler made sure the match crept into a fifth day.

Buttler feared he might never play Test cricket again – let alone score his maiden century.

One-day star Buttler, recalled to the Test team this summer after 18 months in the wilderness, said: “A few months ago, I was a million miles away from this.

"There were definitely times when I thought my race was run in Test cricket.

“It’s a huge moment, I can’t underestimate the feeling. I’m a little lost for words.

“To prove you can do it in Test cricket is a huge part of the feeling, to show you belong and do it for the team.

“It’s more fulfilling than a one-day innings.

"Test cricket is tough, it tests you in all sort of ways. Now I have to back it up and do it again.”
