Ex-Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley condemns body-shaming after man insults her "child-bearing hips"

Catherine Tyldesley expertly hit back at a man who insulted her “child-bearing hips” on the train this week.

The former Coronation Street actress tweeted about the unfortunate incident on Monday (August 13), revealing that the man even asked for a selfie after body-shaming her.

“When some guy on the train bumps into you then blames my hips?!? What the actual fudge?!” she wrote.

“Nice to see body shaming is on the decrease… “Big Child bearing hips” said the cheeky sod.

“Yes they are, and I can probably dead lift twice your body weight love. #backoff

When Corrie‘s senior storyline writer Martin Sterling asked Tyldesley why the “idiot” would say something like that, she replied: “Think he’d had a few. No excuse…

“He then asked me for a selfie. I told him my hips probably wouldn’t fit on the picture.”

Now that is a comeback.

Earlier this month, fans bid a final farewell to Tyldesley’s character Eva Price after a tumultuous seven years on the cobbles.

The actress tweeted her thanks to the ITV soap’s devoted fanbase, posting: “Guys THANKYOU so much for all your tweets!!! You’re breaking my heart – Thankyou . You’re so kind and support is SO appreciated xxxxx #EvatheDiva #corrie #Eva”

But as for those rumours she’s now gearing up to star in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing, Tyldesley has admitted that although “maybe one day” she’d be up for it, she won’t be involved this year. Boo.
