With the wait for Celebrity Big Brother very nearly over, it’s time to add yet another name to the list of celebrities rumoured to be in the house this year.
Roxanne Pallett, best known for playing Emmerdale’s Jo Sugden, has hinted that she could be starring on the show during an interview in this week’s OK! Magazine.
“I’ve been offered the show for the last six years and I have always said no,” the actress said, “because I’ve always felt more comfortable hiding behind a character.
“But this year, since moving into radio and getting my own breakfast show, I’ve gained more confidence showing the real me. I’m more open minded, so who knows?”
If Roxanne is indeed heading to the Big Brother house, she could be joining footballer Jermaine Pennant and Married at First Sight star Ben Jardine. Both of them are rumoured to have signed up to the show.
Love Island‘s Gabby Allen has also revealed that she’s been in talks with the show’s producers about starring in the upcoming series.
Pallett has had a difficult few months. She was recently airlifted to hospital after she crashed into a concrete wall during a stock car race.
She admitted that she thought she was going to die after the accident happened, saying: “I could feel myself drifting away. I wanted to just close my eyes. But I was terrified I would never wake up.”
To make matters worse, the former soap star also faced internet trolling following the accident, particularly from the stock car racing community.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain, she said: “I’ve had some really negative comments on social media that’s been really upsetting from the stock car racing community almost lacking compassion.
“They were almost disappointed that I’d been airlifted and only came out of it with some internal bruising and sprained wrist. I’ve got to also point out that sometimes injuries can be invisible.
“My head doesn’t feel right, I can barely stretch, my ribs and back are so sore.”
We’ll find out for sure when Celebrity Big Brother returns on Thursday, August 16 on Channel 5.
