Shinedown has released the music video for the track “Get Up.” The new visual was directed by Bill Yukich.
Frontman Brent Smith penned the lyrics for the track as a way of helping bassist Eric Bass to deal with depression.
“We don’t want people to feel ashamed about what they’re going through… You’re not going to be defined by your failures. You’re going to be defined by the fact that you didn’t give up,” Smith stated.
The band also made headlines earlier this week, when they announced plans to embark on a European tour in support of their latest album, Attention Attention later this year.
The tour is set to kick off with 8 UK dates, beginning on October 29 at the Academy in Newcastle.
“We are so excited to finally announce our 2018 UK & European tour,” said frontman Brent Smith in a statement. “We want the fans, our ‘family,’ to know how much we appreciate their patience. With that being said, let’s get it on!”
The shows will also feature special guests Starset and Pres To Meco and will conclude on November 7 at London’s Brixton Academy, before heading across to Paris to perform at the Cabaret Sauvage on November 9.
The band is currently performing a co-headlining tour across the U.S with Godsmack.
