LeBron James loves dressing like a Laker

Just call him LA Bron.

LeBron James signed a four-year, $154 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers in July, and almost immediately began incorporating the team’s purple-and-gold palette into his own closet.

After 15 years spent sporting maroon and black for the Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers, James debuted an exclusive violet suede pair of Nike Air Zoom Generation sneakers — his first Nike design — before Game 3 of the NBA Finals on July 6. He wore the same shoes with a $500 pair of JustDon x Mitchell & Ness Lakers shorts on July 15, marking his first official appearance in Lakers gear.

And the purple theme hasn’t stopped since. On July 23, while watching his former teammate Dwayne Wade’s son play basketball, James slipped on a previously-unseen edition of his LeBron 15 Nikes featuring a “Purple Rain” floral print.

And on Wednesday, the basketball superstar showed off his full uniform for the first time for an NBA 2K19 photoshoot, accessorizing with a new pair of Nike UNDEFEATED Zoom Kobe 1 Protro sneakers designed by LA Lakers legend Kobe Bryant.

Unfortunately for fans of James’ style, all three of the above pairs are one-of-a-kind productions, though it seems likely the MVP will include purple styles in his upcoming Nike designs.

James’ shoe game is the stuff of legend, with one particular pair he wore in December 2017 — black-and-white sneakers with the word “EQUALITY” emblazoned across the heels — heading to the Smithsonian’s sports gallery this fall.
