Kevin De Bruyne shares WhatsApp number linked to secret Nike advert starring Neymar, Philippe Coutinho and Ronaldinho

The Manchester City midfielder posted a WhatsApp number on his Instagram story offering no hint to who would be on the other end.

Any fans who messaged the number instantly received a reply from Nike with a link to their new Phantom film.

The message back reads: "Well, well, well… you found me. Watch the new NIKE PHANTOM film and see if you can figure who I am."

Fans were able to get a first glimpse of the advert that shows a mysterious character dribbling past opponents.

A mythical creature, characters in the film spread rumours to who the phantom could be with comments such as "I heard he wasn't even human" and "I heard he had four legs."

The creature emerges as Barcelona's Philippe Coutinho before merging into De Bruyne.

A host of famous faces star in the advert including Neymar, Pirlo, Ronaldinho, Gennaro Gattuso and Mallory Pugh.

In one clip, Ronaldinho is trying on a tailored yellow suit and says: "I heard it's me" before pulling out his trademark smile.

Pirlo is standing in a beautiful Italian garden looking suave as he says: "There is nothing more beautiful… than the scent of fear."

The advert ends with a secretive figure leaving his opponent to the floor before dragging him into the depths of darkness.

A final slogan reads "Awaken the phantom" before Nike show off their latest boot design.

Phantom designer Phil Woodman said: "Nike Football unveils a brand-new boot silo, PhantomVSN – designed for deadly precision and set to be worn by a host of the world’s top players.

"A Phantom player is “a battler who has mastered the art of navigating tight spaces while possessing the vision for attack lanes others may not see."
