How many people watched the Love Island 2018 final?

On July 30 2018, an incredible 3.6 million viewers tuned in to watch Caroline Flack host the finale of Love Island series four on ITV2.

At the time the Love Island launch at the beginning of June broke the record for ITV2's highest overnight rating EVER since records go back.

However, the record-breaking fourth year achieved its highest ever figures on Sunday, July 1, when a staggering 3.7m tuned in.

The previous record holder before series 4 began was the Love Island series 3 finale which attracted 2.6million and a 12.5 per cent share.

Is Love Island 2018 more popular than series three?

Yes – if rating figures are anything to go by.

The viewer count for the 2018 launch more than doubled that of series three which was 1.3million.

Last year the show's viewing figures rocketed as it suddenly became the hit show of the summer.
Series one launched with just 597,000 viewers which increased to 825,000 for series two.

What is the average age of Love Island 2018 viewers?

52 per cent of the audience for the Love Island finale were 16-34 year-olds with 1.6million tuning in.

This was up on last year's finale by 900,000 viewers.

Only Britain's Got Talent on ITV main channel has had bigger audiences for this demographic on any channel so far in 2018.

480,000 people also watched the series four launch on the ITV hub.

When was Love Island on ITV2?

Love Island series four kicked off on Monday, June 4, on ITV2.

The show aired at 9.00pm six nights a week – only taking a break on Saturdays – over eight weeks.

On July 30 Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham were crowned the winners of Love Island 2018.
