Dale Winton’s ashes have been buried with his glamorous actress mother following a private service held for the Supermarket Sweep star.

The 62-year-old was found dead in April at a house he had just moved into in north London, and a coroner ruled on Thursday he died of natural causes.

Friends and family buried Winton at Golders Green Crematorium last week and his ashes were placed with his mother Sheree Winton, revealed the Daily Star Sunday.

The TV star had adored his mother, who took an overdose when he was aged 21.

Winton admitted he was heartbroken over her death, saying the feeling never went away.

A source told the newspaper of the ceremony: ‘He was buried in the Southern garden to be with his mum.

‘It was a very private service followed by a lunch at one of his favourite restaurants.’

Winton had a difficult childhood with his parents divorcing when he was ten. His father died on the day of his bar mitzvah.

Just days after his 21st birthday, Winton found the body of his mother Sheree, who had depression and committed suicide, leaving a do-not-disturb sign on her bedroom door.

Of her death, Winton said: ‘I was heartbroken. That feeling has never fully gone away.

‘I had some really desperate personal moments after mum died. On one occasion I telephoned the Samaritans and saw a volunteer.

‘Whatever people say to comfort one, suicide is chiefly thought of as the ultimate rejection of loved ones, as well as of life, and those who are left need time to get beyond these thoughts.’

In 2016, Winton opened up about his battle with depression, triggered by a break-up.

‘Listen, there are worse things in the world – but I had depression and I didn’t realise,’ he told Loose Women.
