What is a 'red notice'?
A red notice is an international alert to give notification about crimes, criminals and threats from police.
There are eight types of notices, seven of which are colour-coded by their function: Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Black, Orange, and Purple.
Red notices give details of people wanted by a judicial jurisdiction or an international tribunal with a view to his/her extradition.
Notices can be issued in any of the four languages used by Interpol – English, Spanish, French and Arabic.
Which British people are wanted by Interpol?
There are currently 17 people with British nationality wanted by Interpol.
The most recent addition was Shane O'Brien after a bar stabbing in West London in 2015.

O'Brien is wanted by Brit cops for a bar murder in 2015.
The 30-year-old is believed to have fled to the Netherlands and United Arab Emirates before returning to Europe.
He is suspected of killing 21-year-old Josh Hanson in an unprovoked attack in a bar in Hillingdon, West London.
Kerrin Gold
The 39-year-old from Liverpool is wanted in India for possession of hashish.
He was found transporting 12kg of hashish in the airport just as he was about to board a flight.
He was brought to a local hospital for an examination but he escaped through a toilet window.
Mark Paul Walker
Walker, 51, comes from Birmingham.
He is wanted in India for cheating and forgery.
Ivor Fletcher
Fletcher is 55 years old and comes from Birmingham.
He is wanted by the Indian authorities in connection to possession of cannabis.
Paul Colin Francis Meekin
The 43-year-old is wanted for cruelty to a child and publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form.
Indian cops want to track him down.
Meekin was a headmaster of an international school in Bengaluru, India, when he was arrested on charges of sexually harassing a 13-year-old.
He then fled to Kuwait, where he is suspected to have used forged documents to teach again.
Daren Michael Elarmo
Elarmo, 48 is wanted in the United States for kidnapping with the purpose of committing a lewd act on a child.
He is also wanted on numerous charges of having sex with kids under the age of 16.
Arti Dhir
Dhir, a 53-year-old who was born in Nairobi, is wanted in India for kidnapping and murder.
Dhir is accused of being part of a conspiracy to adopt a 12-year-old orphan in India, insure him for a huge amount and then murder the boy to collect the life insurance money.
Harris John Italo Binotti
The 27-year old Scottish man is wanted in Myanmar for murder.
Binotti is wanted in connection with the death of a fellow teacher in Myanmar in 2016.
He is believed to have fled to Thailand the day after his colleague's body was found.
Admad Omar Saeed Sheikh
Sheikh, 43, is a British/Pakistani terrorist who had links to various militant organisations, including Al-Qaeda and the Taliban.
He is wanted in the US for hostage taking.
John Cornelius Fitzgerald
A 73-year-old wanted in Argentina on drugs offences.
David Austien de Montaige
The 64-year-old is wanted in Malaysia for cheating.
Christian James Michel
A 56-year-old man from Harrogate wanted in India for money laundering, conspiracy and cheating.
Leo Francis Morgan
Morgan, 60, is wanted in Russia for "large scale" drugs trafficking.
Morgan has spent ten years in a Panamanian prison.
He has been served with an Interpol red notice because he is wanted by police in Russia in connection with "large scale drug trafficking".
Morgan is desperately trying to block his extradition to war-torn Chechnya.
William J Blackledge
This 82-year-old from Lanark is wanted in the US on charges of drugs trafficking.
He is alleged to have brought in 1,000kg or more of marijuana and 5kg or more of cocaine.
He is alleged to have taken part in drug flights from Colombia to Florida during the 1980s carrying large amount of Cocaine.
Philip Jepson Egglishaw
Egglishaw, 64, is wanted in Australia on a variety of fraud and money laundering charges.
Robert Timmins
Timmins, 66, is wanted in Estonia after allegedly killing a neighbour in 2011.
He cooperated with authorities, but they didn't specify that he had to remain in the country.
After he fled Estonian police referred the case to Interpol.
