In the shocking video, a lorry driver is seen throwing a brick through the side window of a car, only for the motorist to retrieve it and hurl it at his windscreen.
The lorry driver then appeared to use his vehicle as a battering ram against the car.
The footage was uploaded to Facebook yesterday although it’s not clear when it was taken.
It was filmed in Bedfordshire.
The footage begins half way into the action so it is unclear who started the fight.
The driver of the green car, wearing a hi-visibility vest, is seen returning to his car after angrily confronting the lorry driver.
He then drives down the main road and appears to throw an object at the lorry driver.
The lorry driver, dressed all in black, then chucks a brick through his window.
The motorist then runs back to the lorry and hurls it at the windscreen.
In the shocking scene that followed, the lorry driver attempted to ram the small car into a petrol station but narrowly missed him before swerving to avoid crashing into the sign.
The motorist then sped after the lorry driver and overtook in a dangerous area, only just missing a van travelling in the opposite direction.
Those filming the footage expressed their shock at the scene.
One shouted: “Oh my God, he’s chucked a brick through his window. F****** hell.”
Another said: "That's beyond crazy. There's no red mist…that was full on thick fog.”
