They’re already calling for snow in NYC

Winter is coming, early.

The city’s first snowfall of the season is expected on Thursday, meteorologists predict.

“During the afternoon is when things start to deteriorate,” AccuWeather senior meteorologist Dave Dombeck said Tuesday.

The incoming storm will get underway “anywhere from late morning to early afternoon,” and bring “a mixed bag” of “wet snow, some ice pellets, sleet, and some rain,” said Dombeck.

“It might be all snow or sleet for an hour and it will go over to plain old rain for some time by the evening hours,” he added.

Temps — a high of 36 degrees and a low of 33 — will be above freezing, so New York City-goers can expect less than an inch of a slushy coating “at best,” he added.

In suburbs outside the city, conditions are expected to be worse.

And closer to the Catskills, forecasts show snowfall of between 3 and 6 inches.
