Ten people reportedly shot after carnival in England

Ten people were shot in Manchester, England, early Sunday morning, hours after a Caribbean carnival in the area had ended, the BBC reported.

The motive was not known and it was not clear if it involved terrorism.

Police said the victims had suffered “minor to major” injuries.

Several people were still in the streets following the carnival.

Detective Superintendent Debbie Dooley said, “We currently have a number of people in hospital all being treated for different injuries, but thankfully most do not appear to be life-threatening at this time.

“Officers are trying to establish exactly where this incident took place and who is responsible for such a dangerous attack.”
