A teenage boy in China has set a world record of solving three more of the puzzles using his hands and feet at the same time.

Que Jianyu, a 13 year-old puzzle master from Xiamen, south-east China’s Fujian province, had previously amazed millions by solving three Rubik’s cubes while juggling them.

Previously dubbed a ‘genius boy’ by Chinese media, the teenager also managed smashed a record by solving the puzzle in unlikely circumstances against the clock: hanging upside down.

Que was among those who made a mark as Guinness World Records celebrated its annual records day on Thursday, honouring a long list of people who have done highly improbable things better than anyone else.

Video footage of the young puzzle master in action shows him shifting the cube faces at lightning speed, setting the fastest time to solve three Rubik’s Cubes simultaneously with both hands and feet in 1 minute 36.69 seconds.

He then smashed the record for fastest time to solve a Rubik’s cube upside down with a time of 15.84 seconds, beating the previous best by 1.6 seconds.

In May, he was filmed solving three Rubik’s cubes while juggling them in five minutes and six seconds at a talent show on Zhejiang Television and wowed viewers by solving the puzzle while blindfolded on the Australian Little Big Shots TV show.

Leaving the crowd in utter shock, the young man revealed via an interpreter that his to solving the cube was by ‘remembering the position of every single one and then use the formula.’ 

‘I’ve spent a long time preparing for these two [record attempts],’ the teenager said. ‘I’ve overcome a lot of difficulties and only today I’ve achieved success.’

‘In fact, a lot of these challenges look impossible. But as long as you work hard and practice, you can definitely do it,’ he added.
