South Western Railway delays – are trains running from Waterloo Station and how is your commute affected?

Passengers using the route into London Waterloo from Surbiton were warned not to travel on Monday morning (November 19) and now evening commuters face delays. Here's what we know.

Are trains running to Waterloo and what stations are closed?

Chaos has lasted for the whole day, with Network Rail engineering works not being finished by 8.30am.

Evening commuters for services across South Western face cancellations, delays or revised timetables after thousands have been left stranded all day.

Southern services between East Croydon and London Victoria have also been derailed by disruption as a result of over-running engineering works.

SWR said Woking, Surbiton, Raynes Park and Earlsfield stations are all closed.

Until the works clear, no trains can leave Wimbledon or Clapham Junction depots.

What has SWR said about the delays?

A spokesman for SWR said: “To assist you with your journey your ticket will be accepted, at no extra cost to yourself, on the following services:

“Southern Rail services via any reasonable route.

“London Underground services via any reasonable route.

“TfL Bus services from Chessington South/Surbiton/Teddington from/towards London Waterloo.

“GWR services via any reasonable route.

“If you hold a SWR car park seaason ticket, you may park at any SWR station today. Your train ticket will also be accepted from that station.

“We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey.”
