President Donald Trump suggested there are more changes coming in his cabinet after the midterms, and said he would announce his new nominee to be ambassador to the UN by the end of the week.

‘Administrations make changes, usually after midterms,’ the president told reporters at the White House, as he headed out to his first of three rallies on the day before Election Day.

‘And probably we’ll right be in that category too,’ he added. ‘I think it’s very customary.’

Trump said he will name a new UN ambassador to replace Nikki Haley by the end of the week. The administration has already floated State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert for the post, hinting to the public that a woman would continue to hold the high-profile position.

I’ll announce before the end of the week, a UN ambassador,’ Trump said.

He also said he had ‘no timeline’ for the changes, having previously telegraphed that Attorney General Jeff Sessions might go after the midterms – a move with deep repercussions for the Russia probe. Republicans had earlier drew a line against his dismissal, but some, including Sen. Lindsey Graham, having given public comments indicating Sessions’ time is up.

‘I don’t know that we get the credit for it but that’s OK,’ he complained.

Trump has already dealt with a rolling turnover in his administration, with major figures like Secretary of State Rex Tillerson leaving under pressure.

Trump said he would ‘look at’ reports surrounding Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke. The Justice Department is investigating a land deal and travel with his wife

EPA chief Scott Pruitt left under a cloud, and Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price left after his use of private jet travel came to light.

Trump said he would ‘take a look’ at any reports on Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke. The Justice Department is now examining a land deal and other charges that have surrounded Zinke.

Trump also indicated he doesn’t want changes at the Pentagon. The building complied with his request to send troops to confront the caravan, sending 15,000, though some retired generals blasted the idea and former President Barack Obama said troops were being taken from their families as a political prop.
