Pippa Middleton’s name for baby boy revealed – and it’s very royal

Pippa Middleton and James Matthew’s name for their baby boy has been revealed in new reports.

The name, which sounds very royal indeed, pays a touching tribute to several family members.

According to today’s Mail on Sunday, the little boy has been called Arthur Michael William Matthews.

The 35-year-old younger sister of the Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to a baby boy at the Lindo Wing in St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, last month.

Arthur is Prince William, Prince Charles and Prince Louis’ middle name – and is often a favourite with the bookies for royal babies.

The name has also been tipped as a likely bet should Meghan and Harry’s baby be a boy – although this seems improbable now.

Pippa and James gave their newborn the name Michael, which is a touching nod to Pippa’s father and also her husband’s younger brother who died while climbing Mount Everest in 1999.

William may be a sweet tribute to brother-in-law Prince William.

Today’s report also claims that Pippa’s profession listed on Arthur’s birth certificate is ‘author’ – so she is still pursuing her ambitions as a writer.

Arthur was born in West London last month, days after Pippa was seen heavily pregnant at Princess Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank.

At the time, Kensington Palace said in a short statement: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are thrilled for Pippa and James."

A spokesperson for Pippa and her husband said: "James and Pippa have had a baby boy.

"He was born Monday 15th October at 1.58pm, weighing 8lb and 9oz. Everyone is delighted and mother and baby are doing well."

Pippa married James, a 43-year old hedge fund manager and brother of Made In Chelsea’s Spencer Matthews, in May 2017.

Mirror Online has contacted Kensington Palace for comment.
