The body of an immigrant has been found bound to a bed in the middle of a Saudi Arabian road, reportedly riddled with bullets.

The man’s body was discovered on a main road just outside the south-western city of Abha in Aseer Province, near the Red Sea.

According to a police statement, he had been shot with a machine gun.

The victim has not been identified, but was reportedly an illegal immigrant in his thirties.

His body had been tied to a bed and covered with a blanket.

It was dumped in the middle of Wadi Al-Talee Street, seven miles outside the city-centre.       

Local authorities have confirmed that an investigation has been launched to determine the victim’s identity and that of the suspected shooters.

An investigation is now underway into the identity of the victim and the shooters, Saudi Arabian police said 

In the video footage filmed at night, a metal bed frame is seen lying across both lanes of the road.

As the cameraman approaches, a body can be seen wrapped in blankets.

Saudi Arabian police said that they do not know if the man was killed on the bed or if he was placed there after being shot.
