Mum shares photos of 'cursed body parts' her husband found in 'haunted' attic but Facebook users point out it's a lava lamp

Kayleigh Ratcliffe and her husband James, both 31, were left "petrified" by the find and said the contents of the bottle looked like stapled flesh and a floating eye.

The mum-of-two was shocked when James found the mystery bottle hidden under some insulation in an unused part of the loft while laying boarding across it.

But when Kayleigh posted the photos on Facebook to ask what it could be she was ridiculed by dozens of commentators who claimed it was an old lava lamp that had congealed.

Kayleigh, from Syston, Leics, said: “Obviously it is quite frightening to find something in your loft and not know what it is. Particularly when it’s a pinky sort of colour. It does look sinister.

“We’re not saying it’s not a lava lamp. It could well be. But it’s got something floating in the top that looks like an eye – it’s so weird.

“It looks very sciency, like something you’d see in a weird lab. We think it looks like stapled flesh.

“We do have a lot of weird stuff happen in this house as well. I’ll be washing up and I’ll see someone has just walked behind me and I’ll turnaround and there’ll be no one there."

Kayleigh claims police officers confirmed it was likely part of a science experiment and told her to dispose of it.

But when she sought some answers online she was ridiculed by people who claimed it was just an old lava lamp.

One person said: "Can I ask if it was a body part (which you thought) why would you touch it and take pictures."

Another laughed: "People these days needs to be educated."

A Leicestershire Police spokesperson confirmed that the item had been reported to the police and that advice had been given over the phone, but that it was not a police matter.
