Mum of baby Royalty Floyd stabbed and BAKED in an oven reveals grief after her own mother was charged with murder

Royalty Marie Floyd was found dead at the home of her grandmother Carolyn Jones, 48, in Shaw, Mississippi on Monday night.

The 20-month-old's mother Veronica Jones has spoken of her heartache as she tries to come to terms with her own mother's alleged involvement.

In a heartbreaking Facebook post, she said: "Royalty Marie Floyd was the best thing that ever happened to me.

"She's my one and only daughter. My first love. The hardest thing that I ever had to go through in my life.

"My heart has been ripped from my chest. I'm being told that my mother stabbed my daughter and baked her in the oven but my mother loved my daughter.

"She always treated Royalty like Royalty and everybody that knows us know that. To my daughter Royalty 'Mommy will always love you and you will live in all our hearts forever'.”

She also started a GoFundMe page to take care of the funeral arrangements and said that Royalty would have been 21-months-old this week.

She wrote: "I am the mother of Royalty Marie Floyd. My daughter would have been 21 months old on October 17, 2018.

"Royalty was so beautiful & I loved her more than anything in the world.

"I'm starting this gofundme to take care of the funeral arrangements of Royalty Marie Floyd. Anything that is giving will deeply appreciated."

Police were called to the property on Monday night where they discovered the little girl’s body in the warm oven.

It has not been determined if Royalty was dead before or after she was baked.

Bolivar County Sheriff Kelvin Williams said the girl’s body has been sent to the state crime lab for an autopsy.

Jones is charged with first-degree murder and is being held on a $500,000 bond.

Bolivar County Sheriff Kelvin Williams, Sr. said he struggled to make sense of the heinous act.

Williams said: “I’ve been in law enforcement a long time, 26 years almost. I’ve been from St. Louis to here and some of the most horrific scenes that I’ve seen in law enforcement involve children."

He added: "Dark days such as these can only be brightened when justice is served."

Officials hope an autopsy will determine whether the baby died from her stab wounds before being placed in the oven or is she was baked alive.

Investigators said a relative found the toddler inside an oven.

One neighbour said: “I didn’t even know nobody was living in the house. That’s what’s really hurting me and shocked me."

Another neighbour Tomorow  Williams told WLOX: “It’s a baby. It’s an innocent child. She didn’t ask to be here. I mean, if they didn’t want her why keep her?”

Under the news story that was shared on Facebook there was an outpour of shock for the innocent baby.

One said: “Obviously this woman has some sort of mental illness. While it is hard to comprehend under the circumstances, I pray this woman is examined to diagnose any condition which she may have.

“Such a tragic and heartbreaking story. Rest In Peace sweet baby.”
