Mum and daughter jailed after battering woman at a New Year’s Eve party in pub

A mum and daughter who left a woman with serious injuries after battering her in a pub on New Year’s Eve have been jailed.

Paula Millard, 49, and Melissa Millard, 22, were sentenced to five years each for the vicious assault.

The pair were found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm after a trial at Croydon Crown Court.

It happened at around 11pm on December 31 at the Harrow pub in High Street, Cheam, South London.

Their victim, a woman in her 40s, was taken to hospital with facial injuries as well as serious injuries to her wrist.

Melissa, of Worcester Park, and Paula, from Cheam, were both found guilty yesterday.

A statement from the Metropolitan Police said: "Police were called to The Harrow pub on High Street, Cheam at 23:00hrs on 31 December 2016 following reports of a woman assaulted.

"Officers attended and found a woman, aged in her 40s, suffering from multiple injuries after being attacked by two female suspects.

"The victim was taken by London Ambulance Service to a west London hospital for treatment to facial injuries and serious injuries to her wrist."

The Millards were arrested in the aftermath, and charged with GBH in March.
