Moment a cabbie gets out of his taxi on a busy slip road and launches foul-mouthed tirade at driver behind him – because he honked his horn

Dashcam footage shows the driver hit the roof of his car with his hand before getting out of the vehicle and striding over to the young driver.

Alex Plant, 19, received a torrent of abuse for not allowing the cabbie into the slip lane.

The trainee transport administrator captured the astonishing outburst from the driver as he travelled on the A500 to his home in Cheddleton, Staffordshire last Friday, September 28.

Alex said: “I was pretty annoyed when the cabbie tried to cut in out of nowhere.

“I just thought to myself, ‘what is this man doing?’.

“It was very dangerous of him to just suddenly cut in like that, and I honked at him to let him know I was here.

“I was quite amused that he thought he was in the right and that I was in the wrong, and when he got out of his car I thought to myself ‘this is a mad man’.”

Alex was travelling in the second lane at 4pm when the navy Toyota Avensis pulled alongside his black Audi A3 just after junction 15.

The driver ‘cut’ in front of Alex so he blasted his horn at him – prompting the furious outburst.

In the video the middle-aged man can be seen marching towards Alex before yelling: “You were in that f**king lane! Who do you think you are? You stupid b**tard!”

Alex can be heard shouting back: “Are you stupid? Are you f**king dumb?”

Alex said: “I was worried he might do something to my car but in the end he just started yelling at me.

“It was just a shock and I think people’s road rage needs to be dialled in.

Alex, who passed his driving test a year ago, plans to lodge a formal complaint against the driver.

He said: “I think he needs to think about what he’s doing, read the signs a bit more carefully and calm down, especially since he might have passengers in the back.

“I’m going to file a complaint because he’s a dangerous taxi driver and he shouldn’t be allowed to road rage without consequence.

“Hopefully they make him re-take the test and he’ll know how to handle himself on the road properly.”
