Maniac man 'beheaded girlfriend because the cabbage soup she made him wasn’t tasty enough’

It is the second case in less than a week in Russia where complaints about cooking have allegedly resulted in murder.

Officers found the body of an unnamed 47-year-old woman in Russia’s Smolensk region.

Her head had been severed, and her 43-year-old partner reportedly attempted to take his own life after the murder.

He was detained at the couple’s home in Kozlovka village.

The man became angry because his wife cooked tasteless Shchi (cabbage) soup.

Local news outlet Readovk cited a law enforcement source as saying: “The man became angry because his wife cooked tasteless Shchi (cabbage) soup.”

A criminal investigation on the understanding it was a deliberate murder.

Locals said the man had recently lost his job and had started drinking.

A local report said: “Previously he never suffered from this bad habit, and nobody could recall any aggressive behaviour.

The man tried and failed to take his own life after the heinous act, alleged the source.

Earlier this week in a separate case a woman murdered her husband – stabbing him at least 35 times – because he had criticised her cooking, according to Russian police.

Slava Davydkin, 43, a keen fisherman, was killed after complaining there was not enough salt in a dish she served when guests came to their house in Penza region.

His wife Evgenia, 31, waited until he was asleep and repeatedly stabbed him in front of the couple’s four-year-old.

She later confessed to the killing using his angling knife – and is under house arrest.
