Residents fed up of holidaymakers dumping their vehicles in the roads around Bristol Airport instead of using car parks have finally taken matters into their own hands.

A car, a black Peugeot 107, parked near the airport was wrapped in cling film and pelted with eggs with a handwritten note stuck to it, which read: ‘If you can afford a holiday… you can afford parking.’

The vandalised car, which has also had one of its wheels deflated, was spotted in Lulsgate, which is just two miles from Bristol Airport.

Sam Lakner, 22, who spotted the vandalised Peugeot, told Bristol Live: ‘You get it a lot where I live. People just abandon their cars down side lanes and people go out and do it.

‘I just can’t believe that people park like that. I think the residents have had enough of people doing it now.

Residents who live near the airport have long been enraged by vehicles ‘parking illegally’ by people hoping to avoid paying for airport parking.
