This is the adorable moment a playful kitten batted at a curious dog’s ears to teach him not to use the cat flap.

Smudgie the kitten was caught on camera refusing to let Jaxson the dog poke his head through the door.

The video, filmed in Reading, began as Jaxson pushed his head through the plastic flap – lifting it up to create a platform.

Little Smudgie then jumped on top of his head, staring down at the bemused dog.

The playful kitten batted at the dog’s ear with its paw until Jaxson retreated from the cat flap and caused the critter to drop to the floor.

But seconds later, he pushed back through – and the kitten immediately began chewing on his ear.

The dog retreated again, stopping outside the cat flap to stare at his foe.

At one point the dog moved away from the small door – staring at his foe through foggy plastic

But the pair’s feud continued when the dog attempted again to enter through the tiny door.

Smudgie attacked with two paws this time – standing on its hind legs in an attempt to push the dog back through the flap.

The pup made no move to fight back, merely turning his head and looking away from the playful kitten’s onslaught.
