Kate Middleton and Prince William to spend Christmas ALONE after being snubbed by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry amid 'rift between royals'

The Sussexes will be with the Queen at Sandringham amid increasing rumours of a rift between the two royal couples.

Harry and mum-to-be Meghan turned down the option of staying at Wills and Kate’s Norfolk home Anmer Hall, where they had a “fantastic” time with the kids last year.

A royal source said: “There’s not a huge amount of room at Sandringham so it’s quite surprising. Maybe they just want their own space.

“Things are civil between the couples but they don’t spend much time together.”

The Sun revealed Harry, 34, and Meghan, 37, are moving to Windsor — away from Wills and Kate, both 36, in Kensington Palace.

The brothers have reportedly fallen out while Kate was said to have been left in tears over Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress for Meghan and Harry’s wedding in May.

The Sun understands Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland will not be at Sandringham, despite reports she was invited.

Christmas at the royal stately home in Norfolk is a highly traditional affair — with Princess Diana famously finding it stuffy and claustrophobic.

Royal biographer Christopher Wilson said: “Sandringham Christmases can be an ordeal, even for those born royal – and generally those who’ve married into the family can’t wait to get away.

“Kate’s a homebody and loves being with her own immediate family at Christmas — off-duty and relaxed.”

Kensington Palace declined to comment.

CAMILLA: AIR AMBULANCE SAVED MY GRANDCHILD

Camilla made the revelation as she opened an air ambulance base.

The Duchess said: “A huge thank you to everybody who has been involved with this wonderful project.

“I know what fantastic work the Air Ambulance does. I’ve seen it and I have known friends  aved by it.

“My granddaughter was taken off one year in the Yorkshire one.

“Luckily she was sorted and all right. But it gave my daughter such confidence to be aboard it.”

Camilla  is patron of Wiltshire Air Ambulance and was launching a new site near Chippenham.

She did not name the granddaughter but it is believed to be Eliza, now nine — whose mum is Camilla’s daughter Laura Lopes.

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance service was  launched in 2000.

A spokeswoman said its two helicopters attended three or four major incidents a day.

Battle of the festive cards

Sun snapper Arthur Edwards gives his verdicts on the festive cards from Harry and Meghan, Wills and Kate and Charles and Camilla…

Harry and Meghan: ditching tradition

PRINCE Harry and Meghan pose with their backs to the camera for their first Christmas card — ditching generations of tradition.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex opted for a previously unseen black and white shot from their wedding in May.

Ingrid Seward, Majesty magazine editor, said of the snap of them watching a fireworks display: “It’s  not very Christmassy.”

Royal biographer Angela Levin wondered if they were “turning their backs on us”.

The card was released yesterday with Wills and Kate’s, and Charles and Camilla’s.

Wills Kate and the Kids… Hand me crowns

PRINCESS Charlotte and Prince Louis pose for the   family Christmas card — in George’s hand-me-downs.

Mum Kate, pictured with William in Norfolk, is a big fan of recycling outfits.

Ingrid Seward, editor of Majesty magazine, said the card was “really sweet”.

Arthur's verdict on the card

“IT is fantastic because it is a classic, family picture where everyone looks so happy and relaxed.  It is the best picture of Prince Louis so far. And Prince George looks full of mischief.

“People will look at that and feel the Royal Family’s future  is in safe hands.”

Charles and Camilla

Arthur's verdict on the card

“A LOVELY card. Prince Charles  wants to show how dearly he loves his wife and wants people to see that she will be by his side when he is monarch.

“There is a formality to this but it still manages to be very personal.”

'They are going to set traps': Paul Burrell warns Meghan Markle ahead of royal Christmas

PRINCESS Diana's former butler has warned Meghan Markle of "traps" ahead of her first Christmas married to Prince Harry.

Paul Burrell, 60, said "Sandringham is Downton Abbey on speed" and advised that the Duchess of Sussex must prepare for a 'room full of egos' in a chat with the Mail Online.

He told Meghan to 'stick close to her husband and his granny or you're in trouble'.

And Burrell, who worked for the royal family for more than 20 years, advised the mum-to-be to speak directly with the Queen.

He said: "It's what I said to Diana when she first came into the family, try to get airtime with the Queen, speak into her ear.

"The Queen will be very aware of the media attention [on Meghan], she reads every single newspaper, every morning. She will try to resolve it.

"They are going to set traps, there will be pitfalls along the way, but Harry will catch her, so stay close to him. Nothing will happen if you're close to the Queen's grandson."
