Fergie posts snap of Eugenie after claims baby news ‘stole wedding thunder’

Fergie tweeted a picture from Princess Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank less than half an hour after news broke that Meghan Markle was pregnant.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expecting their first child together in the Spring of 2019 with friends and family reportedly told the news at Princess Eugenie’s wedding on Friday.

But the Duchess of York was quick to remind her followers of the bride and groom.

She tweeted: "So proud of Eugenie and Jack #wedding", and also posted the same image on her official Instagram page.

Some on social media accused Meghan of ‘stealing Eugenie’s thunder’ with the baby news.

One person tweeted: "Meghan couldn’t let Eugenie be centre of attention for long could she"

Another tweet read: "So the Duke & Duchess of Sussex told the family on Friday they are expecting a baby in the spring. Like there was nothing else happening on Friday.

"It’s really rude to steal the bride’s thunder. No wonder the Yorks feel like second-class royals."

A third read: "Meghan and Harry announce baby news to family at the royal wedding on Friday …. way to go for stealing Eugenie’s thunder lol"

Fergie was welcomed back into the royal fold for the wedding at Windsor Castle on Friday after making great efforts to repair her image.

She is very close with her two daughters Eugenie and Beatrice who reportedly refer to their group as the ‘tripod’.

Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson had allegedly not spoken to Prince Philip since photos were released of Texan financier John Bryan kissing her feet in southern France in 1992, months after it was announced she and Prince Andrew were seperating.

A beaming Fergie, 58, stood next to the 97-year-old Duke of Edinburgh, while reports even suggest the pair exchanged pleasantries on the big day.

After tying the knot, the newlyweds waved to well-wishers during a carriage procession through Windsor, before heading to an afternoon reception hosted by the Queen.

Around 850 guests tucked into finger food and wedding cake, washed down with Pol Roger champagne, with dozens of wine glasses seen scattered on tables.

The Duke of York was said to have given a traditional father-of-the-bride speech, which reportedly included a joke about Jack once mistaking himself for the family dog.
