Fans sing happy birthday to Meghan Markle as she attends wedding of Harry’s pal

Meghan Markle gave fans a royal wave as they serenaded her on her birthday at the wedding of Prince Harry’s childhood friend.

Scores of wellwishers sang ‘Happy Birthday to You’ as the Duchess of Sussex, 37 yesterday, arrived at the church in a picturesque Surrey village.

Prince Harry was one of the groomsmen as pal Charlie van Straubenzee, 30, and his bride Daisy Jenks, 27, tied the knot.

Harry, 33, had arrived in at St Mary the Virgin Church in Frensham, half an hour before Meghan in a white minibus alongside groom van Straubenzee and his four best men.

The Prince and Meghan, who got married in May, were among around 250 other guests, including two of Harry’s closest friends, Guy Pelly and Tom Inskip, and the Duke of Westminster.

Princess Eugenie and fiance Jack Brooksbank also attended.

But there was no sign of William and Kate who have been enjoying a family holiday in Mustique with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Wedding and party video maker Daisy, who arrived in a black 1951 Mk6 Bentley just before 3.30pm, chose the 13th Century church as it was where her parents married and also where she was baptised.

Prince Andrew previously attended a wedding there in the 1990s.

Rose Farquhar, Prince William’s first girlfriend, sang two solos during the signing of the register – including Ave Maria and Can’t Help Falling in Love by Elvis Presley.

The Rev Jane Walker, who led the hour-long service, said: “Charlie and Daisy looked spectacularly happy.”

Harry and the groom, who works for an investment firm, met while attending Ludgrove Prep School in Berkshire.
