Dozens of supercars bring London’s West End to a standstill as Middle Eastern billionaires roll into town

Regent Street is no stranger to a Ferrari or two but over the Bank Holiday Middle Eastern drivers took the phrase “if you’ve got it flaunt it” to a new level.

Eye-catching motors in lime green, white, orange and black were driven at a snail’s pace through some of the city’s most exclusives areas.

More than a dozen supercars including Lamborghinis, Ferraris, BMWs and even a Bentley Mulsanne worth £230,000 were spotted on the streets of London’s busiest shopping district.

Drivers lapped up the attention as crowds of car lovers and shoppers gazed open-mouthed at the luxury cars.

The tradition takes place every summer with Middle Eastern motorists shelling out thousands to fly their cars over.

Super cars from the likes of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates as well as Kuwait can all be seen parked up in the car park's of the capital’s luxury hotels at the beginning of August.

But the season soon turns into a godsend for traffic wardens with many left up on double yellows outside some of London's poshest shops as drivers become frustrated with our packed streets.

As well countless parking tickets, flashy motorists also have to shell out a fortune to bring their expensive toys over to the UK.

It costs around £20,000 for a return journey, with airlines like Qatar Airways delivering the motors from Doha to Heathrow.

Qatar Airways straps the cars to the floor for the journey and offers places for 31 cars on each flight.

Emirates is another airline to offer the service of bringing cars over from the Middle East to the UK.
