Doormen shown throwing teenager down and pinning him to pavement

Uniformed security staff are caught on camera throwing 13-year-old down and pinning him face down on the pavement in city centre bust-up

  • Passers-by can be heard complaining about the staff and urging them to let go
  • The three men later claim that the boy, who says he is aged 13, had spat at them 
  • Footage, which was widely shared online, was recorded in Exeter town centre 

Shocking footage has emerged of ‘doormen’ throwing a young teenager to the ground and pinning him face-down on the pavement.

The video shows the three men holding the boy, who claims to be 13, down on the concrete as he cries out and tries to resist.

Witnesses can be heard complaining about the security staff and urging them to get off the youngster, while the men can be heard claiming the boy had spat at them.

The incident was filmed by numerous passers-by including David Johnson and Kieran Houghton, both of whom posted their footage to social media.

Above his clip, David wrote the caption: ‘This is what Exeter doorman are. This 13 year old kid, same age as my son and three grown men have to do this s***.’

David’s footage then shows close-up as the three doormen restrain the boy, who is lying initially face up on the pavement.

A group of children, who appear to be the boy’s friends, and members of the public can be seen remonstrating with the doormen. 

The boy being held down tries to resist being restrained further, but is overpowered.

He lets out cries and shrieks as he is turned face down into the concrete pavement.

At one point the young boy can be heard saying: ‘Don’t f****** touch me’.

After the man filming continues to talk with the doormen, they eventually let the boy stand up. 

He explains to the man filming that he and his friends had an incident with a group of girls where they spat on each other, and that the doormen went after them after them allegedly with the reasoning that they ‘beat up girls’.

Another section of the video shows the man filming speaking to the police about what had happened.

The discuss the events, with the man filming and another person off camera, both outraged.

A female voice can be heard saying: ‘It’s completely wrong that three grown men did that to a kid and they’re not even coppers. They’re door staff.’

Devon and Cornwall Police told MailOnline: ‘Police were called to an incident at 5:15pm in Fore Street, Exeter on 23 October.

‘A 13 year old boy was being detained after an altercation with security staff.

‘At the same time a further altercation involving another 13 year old boy and a man in his 20s occurred.

‘Investigations are ongoing and at this time no arrests have been made.’
