Don’t watch this video of plane landing in Storm Ali if you’re scared of flying

This terrifying video shows a Ryanair plane aborting its landing at Dublin Airport due to high winds from Storm Ali earlier today.

The storm arrived on Irish shores overnight and has battered the country with 140km winds throughout the day.

Two people have been killed, a woman in Ireland and a man in Northern Ireland.

The video shows the plane rocking from side to side as it approaches landing before having to take-off again before it can hit the ground, reports the Irish Mirror .

Roscommon native Eamon Donoghue was on the plane.

He said: "I was on this flight.

"It was a heart in mouth moment, but they got us down second time of asking.

"The plane coming in behind us did likewise albeit it wasn’t down as low. "In absolute awe of the pilots."

Met Eireann issued two national weather warnings for the day, including an orange warning, the second highest it can give.

Although the orange caution expired at 1pm, a yellow warning remains in place until 5pm this evening.

In what has been a gruesome day of weather for the country, a woman tragically died after her caravan was blown off a cliff in Galway.


The terrifying incident happened at around 7.45am at Claddaghduff amid high winds along the west coast of Ireland.

Emergency services were called to the scene and following a search of Acton’s beach, the body of a woman in her 50s was recovered.

Meanwhile, 185,000 homes and businesses were without power nationwide due to the storm.
