X Factor's Molly Scott reveals Simon Cowell apologised to her for giving her the wrong songs after she was booted off the show

The 16-year-old singer was elimated after an incredible sing off with Acacia and Aaliyah when she ended up in the bottom two on Sunday.

In a heartfelt interview Molly told The Sun Online about her conversation with Simon afterwards and said they discussed her future pop career.

She said: "After Sunday night's show I was a bit deflated. I did want to see my family and I did have a big chat with Simon, which made me feel so much better.

"Basically he was just saying how he didn't give me the recognition I deserved. He was sorry for the lack of good songs.

"I told him he didn't need to be sorry, maybe I didn't have the right song on the second week or maybe it might not have been the right song on Saturday but I enjoyed that performance so much. He said he will stay in touch with me for the future and it's not the end."

Judges Simon Cowell, Louis Tomlinson, Ayda Field and Robbie Williams' stand-in Nile Rodgers made the final decision who should go after the gripping sing-off.

Simon said to Molly as he consoled her on stage: "I want to say sorry because I didn't do the right thing for you last night. It wasn't you, it was me. But you know what, you have a future in this business."

Molly revealed what it was really like working with the Syco boss behind scenes –  and the mischief she got up to at Judge's Houses.

She said: "He is such a genuine person. He's shown on telly to be a bad guy but he is really not. Me and Bella were hungry at judge's houses, so we were just in his kitchen with his girlfriend Lauren. Simon had some Twiglets (crisps) and there were two packets. Lauren was like 'help yourself guys,' so we did.

Simon walked in and he was like 'I was saving them for tomorrow.' We were like 'Sorry', and he said: 'I was only joking.'
"He's a lovely person.

"It was my time to go, but it's not the last you'll see of me. I'm going to plan for gigs because this is what I want to do, it's not the end.
