It came shortly after Simon revealed his son Eric had released his first record, aged just four.
At the start of tonight’s show, Eric’s group appeared on stage and performed their rendition of the viral song Baby Shark.
While viewers went wild for the performance, it seems Ayda may not have been that impressed.
After Simon’s act Scarlett Lee sung on stage with Leona Lewis, Ayda turned to Simon and quipped: “Oh, Simon!
“I was very worried you were going to have Scarlett duet with sharks so thank you.”
Simon’s jaw dropped after she made the remark and fans said they couldn’t believe what she’d said.
One tweeted: “There literally hasn’t been one live show where Ayda hasn’t made a dig towards Simon!”
While another told their followers: “That shade that Ayda just threw at Simon!”
Simon was proud as punch when he told viewers about Eric's new venture at the start of the episode.
Simon explained: “This is Eric's first release on SyKids Records.
“The record is out now. He is now my boss!”
Viewers couldn’t contain their excitement at Eric’s cameo on the show, with one tweeting: “How cool was Eric? Did we all love he opened the show?”
