The Duchess of Cambridge "could not have been more delighted" on learning little sister Pippa and James are expecting, a friend revealed.
At the top of the guest list were the families of both the bride and groom.
Pippa's big sister Kate was there along with the Duke of Cambridge and even Prince Harry, who she has struck up a friendship with.
Kensington Palace confirmed that Pippa's niece and nephew Prince George and Princess Charlotte would have starring roles in the nuptials.
George, three, acted as a pageboy while two-year-old Charlotte was one of her auntie's bridesmaids.
Pippa's younger brother James was also at the nuptials and brought his on-off girlfriend, the TV presenter and actress, Donna Air, to the celebration.
All of James's family were in attendance with his former reality TV star brother Spencer on best man duties.
However, Spencer's other girlfriend Vogue Williams agreed not to go after Pippa expressed concern about a reality TV celeb attending alongside Prince William and his wife Kate.
A wedding insider said prior to the wedding: “Pippa’s view is that Vogue’s relationship with Spencer is still very new. It wouldn’t be appropriate for her to be there after just a few months of dating.
“But some people in the circle are pretty shocked because this is her future brother-in-law who’s going to end up attending on his own. It’s certainly raised eyebrows.”
Prince Harry's girlfriend Meghan Markle skipped the church but attended the wedding reception.
