Ann Simons was a hairdresser when she met businessman Alan.
Alan was just 18 at the time, while Ann was 16 and they got married two years later.
The couple currently live in Chigwell, Essex.
Ann is also the paternal aunt of former Eastenders actress Rita Simons.

Alan and Ann have three children.
Their first son, Simon, was born in 1969.
