TV presenter Eamonn Holmes is being chased by HMRC for potentially millions in unpaid taxes

HM Revenue & Customs is challenging his freelance pay from ITV, which he gets through his own limited company.

The This Morning host — who is thought to get £700,000 for TV work — says if he loses, Ant and Dec and other ITV stars will be targeted next.

BBC celebs whose salaries are paid in the same way have already been targeted by HMRC, which says they are employees.

It is demanding that presenters pay up to 45 per cent tax instead of the 19 per cent corporation tax they now pay.

Eamonn said: “They’ve reinvented the rules.”
