The owners of American Horror Story‘s Murder House are suing its previous owner, over claims that the house is ‘haunted’.
As detailed in The Hollywood Reporter, current owners Ernst Von Schwartz and Pier A Oakenfeld bought the Rosenheim mansion in Country Club Park back in 2015 for a cool $3.2 million.
But now the buyers have filed a lawsuit, arguing that the mansion, which was famously haunted on the FX TV show, is haunted in real life. They also claim that they were not made aware that the property is a “macabre tourist attraction” that fans like to visit and sometimes break in to.
Beyond that, they say the necessary repairs weren’t made to the house. The defendants argue that the previous owner did mention the “significant deterioration and decay” as well as the repairs, which is required by the city since the building is listed as a historic-cultural monument, and leasing it to FX for filming helps cover the cost.
The house was once available to rent via Airbnb before it went under the hammer. You’ve got to wonder if anyone mentioned the apparent apparitions in the user reviews?
The Murder House appeared in the first season of the show, as well as Roanoke, Hotel and the current season, Apocalypse.
