Ryan Kadro, the executive producer of CBS This Morning, is stepping down from his position at the end of this year when his contract expires.
Talks over Kadro exiting the morning perch he has held for the past two years have been underway for several weeks, network sources tell Deadline. “Things are changing on the show and it was agreed that a change at the top should reflect that,” an insider said on the once Charlie Rose co-hosted AMer.
While cited in ongoing legal action against Rose that CBS News recently confidentially settled its part in, Kadro’s forthcoming departure is said to not be connected to the suit directly.
The news comes after the aforementioned lawsuit where Katherine Brooks Harris, Sydney McNeal and Yuqing “Chelsea” Wei sued CBS News in May in the New York Supreme Court, claiming that they did not act on the alleged inappropriate sexual behavior by Rose, who used to co-anchor the program. According to the suit, they were assigned jobs where they were “were required to spend a substantial amount of time working with Mr. Rose,” who is in his mid-70s. The suit says he “subjected Plaintiffs to repeated, ongoing and unlawful physical and verbal sexual harassment, including without limitation: (a) sexual touching; (b) sexual comments; and (c) sexual advances.”
Kadro joined the CBS This Morning production team in 2012 and served as EP since 2016. The program is currently co-anchored by Gayle King, Norah O’Donnell, and Bianna Golodryga.
