Peter Andre reveals he's being 'as honest as he can' when Princess and Junior ask about scandal-hit mum Katie Price

He said that though he tries "to protect them" he thinks it is best to be upfront.

Speaking to OK! magazine he said: "I’m dealing with everything that’s going on at the moment, but I think it’s very important to deal with these things privately and I’m doing so. "Making sure my kids are protected and away from any negativity is my main priority."

When Peter was asked how he handles it when Junior, 13, or Princess, 12, ask him about the headlines involving their mother, he said: "I try to be as honest as I can be, but I do try and find a way to divert it. I just want to keep the kids protected."

The 45-year-old also hasn't ruled out having more children with his wife Emily.

As well as Princess and Junior the pop singer has Amelia, four, and Theodore, one.

Peter said:"‘Emily does melt at the thought of having another child.

"She’s such a good mum.

"When we’re all here in the house there are so many joyous moments, so it might be nice to add another child into the mix."

He also said Emily is "great stepmum" to Princess and Junior.

Peter added: "Emily’s a great mum and a great stepmum.

£She’s a very calming influence on everyone.

"We have a harmonious home.

"Look, nothing’s perfect and there are tough times in life, but it’s how you deal with it that counts. Things can be pretty hardcore but you just have to deal with things."

He also gushed about hoe Emily deals with all the children's different needs and said that the kids call her "Mary Poppins".

Peter said: 'Emily’s unbelievable. All the kids are at different ages and stages and ask different questions.

"She’s really good at answering questions from a medical point of view, whereas I might find some questions tricky.

"It’s so funny, J and P actually call her Mary Poppins!

"Emily did all the orders for their uniforms and she got her tape measure out and did all the children's measurements.

"She’s awesome, she puts all the labels in their clothes – she’s very practical, but I took them to try clothes on and that was a fun day.

"We’re very hands-on."
