Moment Seann Walsh calls his girlfriend a 'psycho' on the phone after she questions his 'friendship' with Katya Jones hours before their drunken snog

The 32-year-old comedian was seen waving his arms frantically during a call to heartbroken Rebecca Humphries.

Soon afterwards he was seen kissing Strictly dance partner Katya, 29, in a London street.

Strictly bosses say Seann Walsh and Katya Jones can dance on this weekend after their snog — but have given them the Charleston to perform, the least racy routine

BBC chiefs held further talks over comic Seann’s future on the series amid mounting pressure over his conduct following his drunken smooch with pro dance partner Katya Jones.

He was also accused of “gaslighting” now ex-girlfriend Rebecca Humphries, who told in a statement how he had “aggressively and repeatedly” labelled her “psycho, nuts, mental”.

After heated discussions among producers and executives, staff on the BBC1 series decided they still want Seann to continue performing — with bosses keen for him to present a Charleston routine this Saturday.

A source said: “After some consideration everyone has decided that Seann and Katya will carry on.

“Obviously there is a lot of criticism floating around, but no evidence to suggest he should be kicked off.

“But the routine they’re performing has been heavily toned down.

“The Charleston is probably the least sexually-charged style of all and feels more appropriate at the moment than something intimate or romantic.”

Dancers doing the Charleston remain at arm’s length and move backwards and forwards with jazz hands.

But pals said remorseful Seann, 32, was still considering pulling out of the hit dance show.

A friend said: “He knows he has upset and let down a lot of people.

“But he is insistent that things aren’t as straightforward as they seem.

“He maintains his relationship with Rebecca had been off and on for a while. It’s not a clear-cut situation, everyone at Strictly’s hoping things will move on for the sake of the show.”

Seann was pictured in The Sun on Sunday last weekend kissing married Katya, 29, in a London street.

Shortly before their snog last Wednesday, the comedian was seen frantically waving his arms during a phone call to 32-year-old actress Rebecca, his girlfriend for five years.

Seann went on to call the kiss a “one-off drunken mistake” in a desperate apology after news of their boozy embrace appeared.

Meanwhile Russian Katya — whose husband Neil is also a Strictly dancer — said: “I’m so sorry about any offence or hurt I have caused.

“I love my husband and we are very happy together, this is not a reflection on our relationship.”

But Rebecca issued a damning statement of her own on Monday, confirming she had broken up with Seann and accusing him of emotional abuse.

She also said he had branded her a “psycho” when she accused him of playing away.

A high-profile women’s charity joined others in praising the heartbroken actress and slamming the comedian for “gaslighting” her — a reference to 1944 film Gaslight about an abusive husband.

Rebecca, who has moved out of the flat she shared with Seann in Hammersmith, West London, said in her statement: “These pictures were taken on October 3rd. It was my birthday.

“I was alone at home when Seann texted at 10pm saying the two of them were going for one innocent drink.

“We spoke and I told him, not for the first time, that his actions over the past three weeks had led me to believe something inappropriate was going on. He aggressively and repeatedly called me a psycho/ nuts/mental.

“As he had done countless times throughout our relationship when I’ve questioned his inappropriate, hurtful behaviour.”

Sources have told The Sun the night of the photos was not the first time Seann and Katya had been seen looking cosy together.

They said the pair had previously visited the pub in North London which they were snapped outside last Wednesday night

Meanwhile telly’s Loose Women star Janet Street-Porter has told Rebecca to “get a grip” amid the cheating scandal. And she branded the actress’s statement “too long and boring”.

Janet, 71, said on yesterday’s show: “Her Twitter statement is too long. we don’t know anything about the state of their relationship. She said things, he didn’t say anything.

“As a former newspaper editor I thought, ‘Get a grip, girl’!

“I edited it savagely into something which would connect with other women.. ‘I am a not a victim, I am mad as hell. I am cross I was so stupid and naive. Why did I waste time on someone not worthy of me’?”

In her statement this week, Rebecca mocked the spelling of her boyfriend’s name by referring to him as “Sean(n)”.

And it was revealed the comedian had added the extra “N” as a lame tribute to a fictional movie sexist.

Seann told in a previous interview how the spelling was an homage to character Stifler in the American Pie movies, a role played by US actor Seann William Scott.

He was quoted as saying: “When I was at school, my favourite film was American Pie and my favourite character was Stifler.

“Stifler was played by Seann William Scott. He had two Ns, so I put another one on.

“That’s not on my passport — it’s my showbiz name.”

SPEAKING OUT HELPS OTHERS

THE boss of charity Women’s Aid has praised Rebecca Humphries for speaking out about her alleged emotional abuse from ex Seann Walsh.

Katie Ghose said: “She is sending out the powerful message to women who are being controlled by partners that they deserve better.”
