Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards reveals she's had an operation on her oesophagus and goes straight from hospital to the Ivy to cheer herself up

The 25-year-old shared a picture of herself still wearing her hospital wristband after demolishing a chocolate bomb dessert at the posh London restaurant.

The star told her 8.2 million Instagram followers: "Only I would have an operation then ask to be taken to the ivy for my favourite chocolate bomb dessert!

"My oesophagus can’t come between me and my love of food [crying with laughter emoji].

"What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger [bicep emoji]."

She didn't reveal the reason behind the surgery, but has previously spoken about having problems with her oseophagus since she was a child.

Speaking to Now Magazine, Perrie said: "My [biggest body-hang up] is my scar on my stomach.

"When I was little, my oesophagus was too small, so I had to get it operated on to help me eat properly.

"I had to have lots of operations, so that's why I don't want to show it."

In 2012, Perrie had her tonsils removed – and said she was left very "sore" by the procedure.

At the time, she tweeted: "Getting your tonsils taken out sucks! ‪#SORE‬ Thanks for all the lovely messages & Im sorry to miss some of our gigs! Love u mixers Perrie [sic]."

Perrie has just got back from a romantic break with her Liverpool football boyfriend Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in Mykonos, Greece, after finishing the Little Mix summer tour.

She shared pictures of her holiday with fans, including one of her going make-up free and baring her freckles for a selfie.

Perrie wrote: "Growing up I was always insecure about the freckles on my face. Over the last couple of years I’ve started to embrace them and don’t feel I need to hide them anymore.

“Embrace your individuality. Love what you love without worrying about judgement."

The upload won praise from her devoted fans who said she was an "inspiration".
