With her sisters ready to pounce after news of Tristan Thompson’s cheating broke wide, the expectant mother took control of her childbirth and her family.
It was the episode fans have been waiting for all season, and Khloe Kardashian was partly dreading, as "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" finally caught up to the cheating scandal that rocked Khloe’s delivery of baby True.
News of Tristan Thompson being seen with another woman broke at almost the exact same time that Khloe went into labor, making an already tumultuous and stressful time almost a nightmare. Especially because her sisters all knew about it by this point and they are absolute warriors in defense of one another.
In the latest episode, Kylie Jenner revealed that she was the one who finally broke the news to Khloe, alone and in Cleveland, because she wanted her to find out from family rather than the Internet. And that story broke in a big way back in April, so Khloe was definitely going to find out.
What was remarkable, though, was her overall calm about the news when it hit. With her delivery imminent, Khloe showed remarkable poise and restraint, essentially deciding to table the entire scandal for the duration of the birth.
Not forgetting about it, obviously, but just setting it aside for this momentous occasion that she’d always envisioned as one of her most joyous moments, and one she fully intended to enjoy with the father of her child.
The tragedy of that is almost heartbreaking to imagine for Khloe and the whole family. You prepare for the birth of a child as this moment of such joy and now it has this huge black could hanging over it. And Khloe had to be the one to rein in her sisters’ justified rage.
"Everyone wants me to make a decision right this second and I just want to go and give birth and try to enjoy this," Khloe said, admitting that she still wanted Tristan in the room. "I don’t want anyone to talk about it and make him uncomfortable and make me uncomfortable." She admitted on Twitter Sunday night that she was "in shock" at the time, but she still handled herself like a boss.
Everyone certainly was uncomfortable, but they vowed to honor her wishes. "It’s going to be hard to look at him or be in the same room as him," Kim said of Tristan. And if Khloe wasn’t going to say it today, Kim definitely wanted to let him know, "To be continued motherf—-r. It’s not over."
And she’s right, as the story continues in next week’s episode, Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on E!
