The former Atomic Kitten star appeared on the show alongside Jason Dickinson to talk about the incredible reunion, which finally happened for the first time last month.
Kerry, 38, revealed how she was raised by her step-dad, who she initially believed to be her birth father – and had no idea Jason existed until her actual biological father Ronnie Armstrong died in 2008.
The star had been aware of Ronnie's wife and children for a number of years but had chosen not to disrupt their life.
However, after his death, Kerry made contact with Ronnie's widow, who told the star her dad had been married before and had two other children, one of which was Jason.
Kerry – who had hired a private investigator at the time – said: "I knew his [her dad's] name, and I got to a certain point in my life and thought, I just want to know what he looks like.
"But he was a married man with children, I didn't want to ruin that so I stayed away."
Jason added how he initially held back from contacting Kerry following his father's death, as he had his own family to focus on.
But on New Year's Day in 2011, he sent the first text to his famous half-sister, but they only managed to meet for the first time last month.
Jason explained: "We have been texting constantly for nine years.
"It was down to commitments basically. She lives down south, I live up north.
"I was going through a divorce. I had my own problems and issues I had to deal with.
"But I'm getting married in February, life's brilliant at the minute, so I sent her a text and invited her to the wedding."
Last month, Kerry met her long lost sibling for the first time, and shared a sweet selfie of them together on her social media.
Kerry wrote on Instagram: "Just met my big brother for the first time!! Absolutely love him!!!"
The previous week, she told fans she had seen him for the first time after a emotional Facetime call.
After Kerry saw her brother's face, and told Instagram fans: "Omg just spoke to my Biological brother for the first time on facetime! Emotional isn't the world! Xxxxxx"
She added alongside a series of snaps: "Sooooo after 8 years of texting… we finally spoke on FaceTime!!
"This is my older brother who I am yet to meet in person!!!
"Feeling very emotional xxxxx my big bro!!!! Xxxx on that note off to process! Stay blessed."
