It came after pals warned the 40-year-old she was becoming a “figure of fun” to some players, who said she deserved a fresh start.
Last week Katie’s husband Kieran Hayler exclusively told The Sun he’d suspected Katie of having an affair with Brighton defender Shane Duffy behind his back.
And she was previously caught Facetiming Spurs ace Dele Alli while Kieran was in the room.
Now, insiders tell The Sun Online Katie is cutting them all out of her life.
A friend said: “Katie has been made to delete the numbers of all negative people in her life, including some footballers. It’s these sort of people who are trying to destroy her life.
“Her family and friends have been worried for years about some of the people she's close to.
“Her therapists have made her go through her phone and delete all numbers and message from people who bring negative energy to her, they want her to be at complete peace with the people around her.
“She knows that she has been the butt of their jokes and has been seen as a figure of fun in the footballers’ world.”
In the past, the 40-year-old had dalliances with the likes of rugby player Danny Cipriani, who dumped her for his previous lover, model Kelly Brook.
And Katie previously admitted her romance with former Man United striker Dwight Yorke was just a series of “drunken shags” that resulted in the birth of her son Harvey, now 16.
The Sun Online has contacted Katie’s representatives for comment.
Speaking in his first ever interview following his split from Katie, Kieran opened up about the impact her close relationship with Shane had on him.
He suspected she was having an affair with the footballer after her car was seen at his home overnight.
Kieran said: “A lot of what happened towards the end of the relationship, before we'd actually said that we were going to divorce. There was Shane Duffy, that was all behind my back.
“She was going to his house and saying he was just a friend but she was spending the night there.
“Katie had gone there one night in lingerie. She'd driven in the car in lingerie and put it on her Snapchat because I wasn't on Snapchat so I couldn't see it.”
The former Loose Women star is on a 28 day treatment plan at The Priory and yesterday pals told The Sun Online Katie had wished she’d checked in years ago.
