I'm A Celebrity winner Harry Redknapp’s horse racing business has lost £130,000

The ex-footie boss, 71, told a string of hilarious anecdotes in the jungle about racing.

But accounts for his firm Three Kings Racing show it has racked up losses in two years’ trading.

Harry set up the business near his home in Dorset to buy young horses in the hope they would become winners.

One, This Is It, won a race and had three second places in the last three seasons.

But it earned less than £10,000 prize money, according to Racing Post statistics.

Harry’s trainer Nick Mitchell said recently: “We’re not trying to spend hundreds of thousands of pounds on horses, we’re looking for value on nicely bred, good-looking horses who have futures, and that’s what we’re about.

“That’s the sort of horse I like and that Harry likes. The yard is only half an hour from his house.

“So he comes out to our yard and he’s very much interested in all the horses, not just his. He’s a really decent man to work with.”

In one jungle tale, Harry told how Sir Alex Ferguson persuaded him to watch a 2.45pm race in his office while their Tottenham and Manchester United teams headed out on the pitch to play.

In another, Harry revealed how he chatted about his bookmaker nan to “this girl”, unaware who she was.

When she mentioned her own gran loved racing, Harry twigged she was Princess Beatrice talking about the Queen.

Since leaving the jungle, Harry has signed a £500,000 deal for sports-based McDonald’s ads to be aired in the spring.
