I'm A Celebrity star Anne Hegerty reveals she'll be taking 'no nonsense' in the jungle but fears 'letting people down'

The Chase star Anne Hegerty, 60, known for playing The Governess on the hit TV show touched down in Brisbane airport, Australia, on Tuesday
morning.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun, she said she's ready to shut down any fools when she enters the jungle with Rita Simons, Harry Redknapp and Fleur East.

She said: "I don’t take much nonsense, but I take more nonsense from people than you might think."

The fearsome quiz master isn't fussed about making friends and isn't looking for love either – joking that the only friendships she'll have Down Under is with the "koalas".

But she'll at least try to keep her loyal fans happy, adding: "If I was to go in the jungle I would be worried about letting people down."

Anne is a competitive quizzer who has appeared on Mastermind twice and reached the semi-finals of BBC quiz spin-off show Are You An Egghead in 2008.

Anne has also starred on Brain of Britain, and in 2017 was ranked in 65th place in the World Quizzing Championships.

However, she is best known for appearing as one of the chasers on the much-loved ITV daytime quiz show.

The quiz boffin chose the nickname herself over the original suggestion "The Headmistress" as she claimed it was "more kinky", and also appears on the programme's Australian version.

Her steely demeanour and withering putdowns of hapless contestants have earned Anne the nickname "Frosty Knickers" on the show.

Meanwhile, footballer and manager Harry, 71, is also swapping the pitch for the jungle. He's been coy about his arrival in the camp for the latest series, but is looking forward to a new challenge after being sacked from Birmingham City.

Alya Nazir has also abandoned the Rovers Return for Australia to star in the latest series.

The 30-year-old Corrie actress has made a big impact on the cobbles, but she is now looking to make a name for herself in reality TV.

I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here starts on Sunday 18 November at 9pm on ITV.
