Hollyoaks star Lysette Anthony has warned that Marnie Nightingale could fall back into manipulative Mac’s trap.
David Easter has recently reprised his role as Marnie’s monstrous husband, who has defied the odds and recovered from locked-in syndrome.
Mac has spent the last nine months in a care home following his horror fall at The Dog, but is now back in the village to wreak shock revenge.
Speaking to Digital Spy on the red carpet at the Inside Soap Awards 2018, Lysette said she was thrilled to be working with David again but hinted at worrying times ahead for Marnie.
“It’s great”, she said. “He has been such an amazing villain and I am thrilled with what we’ve been doing.
“The complexity of a married couple, Marnie knows him, there are ties with the kids, is she going to get lured back?
“She isn’t stupid but she is also worn out and homeless! So we’ll see. If anyone is going to sniff Mac out it will be Marnie but she might have a moment of amnesia.”
Lysette also weighed in on the ongoing Jarry vs Starry debates online, insisting that Harry Thompson is not a good match for her son James.
She said: “I don’t think Marnie will ever trust Harry. James is her baby boy. They are each other’s everything so in the end she’d be quite jealous. They don’t really do happiness. Harry isn’t enough for James. He needs to grow up and find someone his own age.”
