Hollyoaks' Adam Woodward promises Buster abuse storyline will have "the right ending"

Hollyoaks‘ Adam Woodward has promised fans that the soap’s on-going Buster Smith child-grooming storyline will have an ending that sees justice served.

The vile abuser was arrested in scenes airing on the Channel 4 soap last month, and will ultimately face trial for sexual abuse in the next phase of the storyline. On the red carpet at the Inside Soap Awards, Digital Spy chatted with Brody Hudson actor Adam Woodward about the endgame of the story.

“I think it will be the right ending to the storyline,” Brody told us. “How Brody copes with that ending will be interesting for both the viewers and for me to go and explore as well.”

Brody will try to bring his abuser to justice starting with a pre-trial hearing next week, which Woodward promised is the beginning of many “twists and turns and lovely scenes” that will play out during Buster Smith’s trial.

“Oh god, it’s a big moment for him,” Adam explained. “The character has taken so long to come forward and be able to speak about his abuse.

“This is the first time, or opportunity, to get to put his abuser on trial and kind of see whether he’s going to answer for the crimes he’s committed.”

Hollyoaks airs Mondays through Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look screenings at 7pm on E4.
