EastEnders’ Dexter actor Khali Best is spotted filming for ITV’s Endeavour series 6

Former EastEnders star Khali Best looks set for a surprise appearance in series 6 of ITV’s Endeavour.

The actor played Dexter Hartman on the soap between 2013 and 2015, winning a Best Newcomer prize at the National Television Awards at the time.

While he swiftly departed, it seems he’s got a new role lined up in the ITV detective series – going by new photos from the set.

In it, he appears to be playing a bus driver as he interacts with Shaun Evans’ Endeavour Morse, who is sporting a rather impressive moustache.

Best’s exit from EastEnders was confirmed in 2014, with the actor saying at the time: “I’ve had an amazing two years at EastEnders, however I am now looking for a new challenge.”

During his run on the soap, he was suspended for three months, reportedly over bad behaviour on set and outside of work.

The new series of Endeavour started shooting last month, with Evans returning as the now-mustachioed titular character.

Also back are Roger Allam as DI Fred Thursday, Anton Lesser as CS Reginald Bright, Sean Rigby as DS Jim Strange, James Bradshaw as Dr Max DeBryn, Sara Vickers as Joan Thursday, Abigail Thaw as Dorothea Frazil and Caroline O’Neill as Win Thursday.

Alongside Best, the new cast includes Simon Harrison (Fearless) as DI Ronnie Box and Richard Riddell (Bodyguard) as junior DS Alan Jago.
