Danny Dyer reveals real reason he won Best Soap Actor in foul-mouthed speech

Danny Dyer has revealed the real reason he believed he won at the TV Choice Awards.

The EastEnders star looked thrilled to be named Best Soap Actor, but insisted it had nothing to do with his portrayal of Mick Carter.

Danny, 41, turned the air blue during his foul-mouthed acceptance speech on Monday night.

The award-winning actor said he feared daughter Dani Dyer’s Love Island victory could have influenced the result.

He also thanked David Cameron , admitting that calling him a "tw*t" on Good Evening Britain also probably helped.

Danny made headlines this summer when he slammed the former Prime Minister during a Brexit discussion on the late night edition of Good Morning Britain.

After thanking his EastEnders co-stars, he declared: "I like to think I’ve won because I’m a blinding actor but I fear it’s actually because my daughter’s won Love Island.

"She’s f***ing beautiful, she’s over there my little Dani.

"And also because I called David Cameron a tw*t – the other thing I think."

He added: "I’d like to thank Dani and to David Cameron – what a f***ing tw*t he is."

The actor also made reference to the time he previously won the gong four years ago – and had to apologise to Mary Berry for his inappropriate on-stage antics.

"I did win this before," he said. "It was a right nutty night and I ended up licking Mary Berry."

Danny ended his speech by claiming he was going off to find the former Bake Off judge.

He attended the bash with Dani, 22, plus her Love Island beau Jack Fincham , 27.

"It’s nice to hang out with them – I’ve hardly seen them they’ve been so busy," he said.

Father and daughter revealed they had plans to work together soon.

"We’ve had some mad stuff come up,” Danny said. "We’re going to go and have some meetings and see how we feel. It could be brilliant or it could be a car crash.

"We want to do a film together or something, not just selling our souls to the devil but something credible. Be patient and we’ll see what happens."
